I have no wish to come between you nor to add further complications, but ask you to remember that the QUOTED handling is not entirely bullet-proof. It struggles when quotes are 'left open', i.e. not paired on the line, especially if there are other quotes already on the line.
Example: SPF_Cmd("FIND R'"+tmp$+"' !"+Get_Csr_LPtr) ' comment here
The code statement is handled fine, but the comment (and it's introducing standard single quote) are coloured the same as QUOTED strings. Replace the standard single quotes inside the SPF_CMD(...) with the SPFlite-allowed reverse single quote and all is ok again.
Such cosmetic hiccups are no big deal, but create problems when the colorisation becomes the driver for other logic, like CHANGE.

Stefan: Maybe there's a way to prevent 'spotting' a Comment indicator if it's within quotes. It's worth a look.

[UPDATE] A little fiddly, but I think it's working, and worth the tiny extra overhead in the Attribute scan.
And if we do go with SCOPE, it's important, right now it's just a bit 'prettier'.
