George: Yes, the file is on the next page. My resent files list actually contains 93 files (I use max=99). I've no Forgotten or Excluded files. The file showing up instead of FileManager is always the very last file depending on sort order.

George: I did some more tests with my resent filelist, excluding various files and here is the file: "SPFLite.CFG". When I run FF with SPFLite.CFG excluded, all works ok. For SPFLite.CFG I use a special EFT entry: "SPFLITE.CFG = SPFCFG,MODE BROWSE". And the Profile SPFCFG has "XFORM XCFG ON", but there is something weird, the XFORM XCFG should produce another display
Jo
Update: It needs a RELOAD to work as designed in v3.0.24091 In V3.1.24100 the reload fails with "Operand: READ, exceeds the maximum allowed text operands"

MUEH: That whole area of (FIND/CHANGE/RLOC/RLOCFIND/RFIND) commands, and also being able to repeat the other NFIND DELETE SPLIT and JOIN commands, and then throw in the ability to type in a full CHANGE/SPLIT/JOIN etc. commmand and THEN hit RFIND or RLOCFIND to only do the search half of the command is the most perverse thing ever designed.
Commands like RFIND and RLOCFIND have to be able to cope with all the parameters of all those commands. It took weeks to get something that worked properly, and then I overlook RFIND in one spot. Grrr.
Fixed in the next release.

Jo: Thanks, so this triggers an XFORM macro for the file.
I'm sure that's going to be the cause for what's happening. FF basically triggers a load of the file within the File Manager tab itself. There's a good chance that some routine in that load path is stumbling. The FF load is issued with an optional flag that says to skip high overhead processing, like colorization, or File Watch startup and shutdown.
I'm not sure, but my inclination is to just exempt XFORM, but I'll try and keep it.
Can you send me the XCFG.MACRO file?
BTW. If you really want to examine the CFG file, get DB Browser (SQLite). I use it all the time. BE CAREFUL! Although its called BROWSER, you can modify data with it. And if you muck up the CFG file, you're on your own. Export it with CFGMaint just to be sure.

George: the XCF.Macro is from Your samplemacros: XCFG.macro (2.08 KB) The RELOAD command now works in V3.1.24102 BTW, I periodically use CFGMaint to unload the CFG-File, I do not modify anything, just compare.

Jo: Tracked it down. XCFG reads the file and adds the lines to the edit file via the Add_Line macro function. And that fuction had been marked as Edit tab only, not FM. As well the FF command itself was not marked as a valid command to use XFORM support. Together, those two just messed up an FF command where some files in the filelist used XFORM to read the data.
Corrected in the next release.

V3.1.24103: the FF command now seems to work better, now the findstring is searched in the data inserted via Add_Line instead of the raw data as in the previous version. The FoundFiles FLIST is correctly built. Browse/View/Edit on any file with XFORM works instantly, so no RELOAD necessary. But, the FileManager tab is replaced with the file currently scanned - the tab-text starts flickering at some point - and finally contains the last file scanned.

WDIR primary command gets popup "Parse Model missing for: WDIR". After clicking <OK> the windows directory comes up as usual. FileManager line command WDIR works as usual (no popup). Jo

Jo: You mean after an FF search it doesn't switch to displaying the Found Files FLIST? Hmm, I'm not seeing that, maybe send me your CFG file, it might be caused by some different options.
WDIR is just another dumb oversight by me. I swear, I've gone through Cmd. lists umpteen times, my brain is turning to mush.
Fixed next release.

George, yes the FF does not switch to FoundFiles, instead the FileManager tab is replaced with an Edit tab. CFG file sent to Support@SPFLite.com Jo

Jo: Got your CFG and the problem happens here as well, so it is triggered by some setting.
George
[UPDATE] Well, I found the problem, but I'm d*mned if I can see where the different CFG files made the difference.
During FF processing, the FM Tab effectively 'becomes' an Edit/Browse tab to allow reading and searching. What was happening was that the tab mode was not being restored to FM mode, so the next redisplay just displayed based on the Edit/Browse mode. (With your CFG). But with my CFG it DID get switched back to FM. ?? I added a force back to FM mode line of code.
I'll post the fix version

Jo: Looks like some more command definition dumbness. I'll check it out.
OK both fixed. ACTION was weird, the command Model was just missing, but I distinctly remember ACTION because it was the first command to be converted (I just went through them aphabetically). ??
SORT was another whole problem as it has the absolute weirdest syntax of all the commands.
24106 should fix both errors.
