Sorry, here is the text. Don't know why it's not on the first post ?
From the documentation, section 'Working with the File Manager'
File Manager line commands "Next to each line entry in the File Manager display is an underlined area where you may enter commands to be performed against the line entry. The command entry area is a scrollable field, so there is no restriction on the full length of any command entered. In addition, the width of the File Manager line command field can be adjusted, by setting a column width for it on the File Manager Global Options dialog. However, most FM line commands may be entered as simple single character values."
So far, so good - here is my question to the 'underlined' area. I thing 'underlined' stand for filled with character "_". But for some of my directories the line command area is filled (pre-set) by the characters '.' What's the reason for this ? I don't know why this happens, so please tell me the reason why the line command 'Filler' is '.' instead of '_'. Nothing found in the manual, and only some directories/folders are affected.

R60: When the entry displayed by FM is flagged as Read-Only, the ______ is replaced by ...... to indicate this. It's in the Doc. somewhere, probably in working with read-only files. It should probably be mentioned in the FM section as well. I'll make a small addition there.

Robert: I added another sentence in Working with File Manager where it describes the screen layout. George

George, Robert: Thx, yes may be that the problem is sitting in front of the keyboard - not reading your > 750 pages docu.
Okay, it's a joke. Better to have a large and good docu - compared to having no/or bad docu.
Give me some time and I read some more stuff included in the manual.
Sorry, my fault - my fault - my fault.

Robert: I agree, more Doc. is not the way to go, the size of the Doc. scares off enough users as it is. I'll do this for the status bar, but please, no more status bar additions, the routine is now so rife with exceptions and if this, else that, maybe the other that it is almost unreadable.
