I read in the documentation about the "all" command. If I have a filelist, I can do ALL select, or ALL edit, ALL medit.
Is there any technical reason why the above commands does not work in the Filemanager itself as a Filemanger primary command ? So with a "ALL e", all files in the directory get open.
Until now, I go to the first line and fill in "ss". Then I go to the last line and fill in "ss" And click ENTER.

Thanks. E/ is also OK for me, maybe better. Except for the "/", because on a german keyboard, I have to press shift. (Maybe: e# or e+)
Why I need such a feature, because I don't want to change my flow of work. My current editor is SPF/Pro 5.0. Because the editor is very old and not maintained any more, the successor SPF/SE does not have the below feature, so I am looking for a similiar editor.
What I do very very often is: 1. I open spfpro.exe *.* 2. Spfpro shows me the Filemanager. 3. At the command prompt: "change int double" (or "find int" if no change is required) 4. After pressing ENTER or F5 or F6, Spfpro opens the first file in Edit-Modus. The cursor is on the first "int." Then I can go through the file with F5 or F6. (I want so see every "int". Then I decide to change it with F6 or not with F5) Then I close the edit session with F3(=END) or CANCEL. (or with F4, then the loop is aborted) Spfpro opens the next file until all files are processed. After the last file, spfpro shows the Filemanager again with all changed files (like spflite "ff" command).
To get a similiar behaviour in spflite, I want to do: 1. I open spflite.exe *.* 2. Spflite shows me the Filemanager. 3. At the command prompt: all medit (or e/ in the first line) 4. In the medit-session: "change int double" Then I go through all files with F5 or F6.

Jonas: Robert: A Primary ALL command in FM has just never been asked for (I think). It is certainly possible to do.
The / line command is a bit trickier. I know Robert has always pushed for FM to more closely mimic all the functionality in the Edit screen, and there's no reason why more couldn't be done other than - me. FM is awkward to work in, and making changes in there is what I refer to as 'soul destroying coding', pure utter slog-work coding. No fun, no pleasure, no sense of achievement, just drudgery. So I avoid it. But that's just selfish. I'll try and overcome that and see what can be done.

Using . and .. might be possible, I'd have to look at what it would mean. Parsing line commands is oddly more difficult than it should be, every time I look at it I keep thinking "Why did you do it that way?". I mean it's been totally re-written about 3 times in SPFLite's history, you'd think by now it would be tidy and clean.

[Robert]: Here is the German keyboard layout T2/DIN. They have it a lot harder than in English:

[George] Yes, I looked at a lot of the non-US keyboards when the original support was put in for them. We're spoiled.
Regarding the . and .. support for / and \ It will be in the next release, it turns out a 2 line fudge at the right point does the trick.

Jonas: It would be hard for ALL support to be easier than 2 lines of code. ;-)) All will take a bit longer.

[Update]
The primary ALL command will be included in the 8.3 release.
