Hello George ! After V10 residual Data on command line isn't cleared after macro set's Shorter cmd with Set_Line(0 and does Set_Msg(4 to Show cmd . To reproduce invoke MURETR macro ( lines 151 -153 is the Code) via PFK with some longer txt on command line as shown After MURETR is executed you will see the set cmd with residual data in V10 . V8.5 clears this data . Here the MURETR macro to execute MURETR.macro (6.11 KB) Know that you it takes longer . Thanks

mueh: OK, corrected. Believe it or not is was all wrapped up in the colorization re-write.
Next release (which I will have to escalate). If you need it sooner send me your email (I probably can't find it from the last time)

George: After 10.0.8298 the residual data after Set_Line(0,... is fixed but a new Problem occures . If Data in Set_Line(0 is longer than cmd line on screen only data up to cmd line length is entered . To reproduce f.e enter MURETR 24 . Line 24 is a Long cmd . No Problem in 8.5 or 10.0.8287 Thanks

mueh: I'm not doing very well here am I. I'll revisit it once again.

[Update]
Yes, Set_Line was truncating to the visible command line length. No known reason I'm aware of, so I've removed the truncation. I was doing a lot of cut/paste copying of things during the V10 colorization changes, my guess is it crept in then. And yes, colorization changes affect the command line if running with Options => Screen => "Hilight Cmd line keywords = ON.
This would show up of course right after a fix-up release is put out.

George:Good News for all other COLOR and SORT Problem. They are perfectly fixed . 10.0.8319 however re implemented the RESIDUAL Data Problem which was fixed in 8298 . There is also a 3'rd Problem i didn't describe yet . When moving the Cursor RIGHT to see the TXT not shown on visible cmd line the SCROLL > PAGE is overlayed and the Last Charater is repeated when you reach the end of txt . 8.5 doesn't Overlay SCROLL > PAGE and Shows blanks . Here the screen shot . CRCMV is to PAD cmd with blanks as shown on line 151 .

MUEH: I can see what you're saying, but when I test it with 10.0.8319 it seems to be fine. Here's my test macro, how does it work for you?
' TRY.macro
dim strvar as string = "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb cccccccccccccccccccc ddddddddddddddddd eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee fffffffffffffffff g"
set_line(0, strvar)
halt(0)

Robert: Which problem? The last one was about STATE and/or CLIP structure. How does either relate to this?

George: Knowing that your test case works i found now what is causing the Scroll overlay Problem . Enter txt in cmd line beyond visible cmd line . Press HOME key to come back to begin and overtype beginnning of txt with "cmd " without apostrophes . Now you should see the Scroll overlay . or do following try.macro
' TRY.macro
dim strvar as string = "cmd aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb cccccccccccccccccccc ddddddddddddddddd eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee fffffffffffffffff g"
set_line(0, strvar)
halt(4)
Please don't Forget my Residual Data Problem . Test it with the previously attached MURETR macro . No Problem in 8.5. Thanks

MUEH: First I had to change the return code back to 8. I had changed it to zero before pasting in my macro for you to test. Of course zero means all is ok and SPFLite clears the previous command.
Duh!
OK, I added cmd in front, and I see the problem. I'm dumbfounded, I can't believe it makes a difference, but I see it. How did you ever spot that?
I'll get to this tomorrow, it should be very interesting to figure out.
From the look of what you're working on, you must know more about SPFLite macros than Robert and I combined. I'm impressed.
