Hi,
As the subject says, very little (i.e. nothing) happening here in the forums.
But behind the scenes it's been quite busy. The SPFLite source code has been going through a very long overdue 'spring cleaning'. Like any program that has grown and added features galore over the years, there has been much 'expedient' code added and the result was a much patched, prodded and sometimes confusing pile of code.
A couple months of cleanup has done wonders (at least from our side) and we're now ready to actually start making changes that you will be able to see.
Just letting you know we haven't fallen off a cliff, we're still plugging away.

but have you been a "waskuwy wabbit" ? :-))
The quiet part goes both ways. There are a lot of SPFLite users out there, and nary a peep out of any of you ... hey, what gives?
Users typically only pass along complaints, but if everything is going well, it's usually "heads down/keys flying" mode.
It would be good to hear how everything is doing with 7.1. Maybe let people know what kinds of work you are putting SPFLite to use on.
This actually isn't an idle request. An important way that new features get in is for people to pass along their experiences. Oftentimes, a decision has to be made about whether or not to do something or add something, and if the conclusion is "no one would ever want A, B or C" it doesn't get in. So don't think your comments (even good ones) are ignored; they're not.
So, let's hear it ... how is it going, everyone?

I'm just happy to have found you and SPFLite.
About 10 years ago, I was assigned to a web application project and finally broke free of the mainframe world - or so I thought. Another survivor of multiple layoffs recently remembered that I'd touched a mainframe once, thus labeling me as a "mainframe expert", and I now find myself plonked back there and needing to work with ANSI text without line breaks.
No problem. The good news was that I knew I had an old directory of Tritus SPF saved somewhere. The bad news turned out to be that it won't run under 64-bit Windows, no matter how forcefully I beat my head against desk and wall.
Thanks to Google and SPFLite for saving my bacon and what's left of hope for my career.
