All this seems pretty positive news. Thanks for putting in the effort to look into this George.
Having now downloaded latest version and tried it, it's massively faster.
One difference I've noticed now though is that the Recent Paths screen "compresses" folder names. Anything longer than 40 bytes has the first 12 bytes, followed by '...' followed by the last 24 characters of the folder name. Is this a side effect? It used to display the full name regardless of length.

I'll await Clive's response, but Robert is correct. You could always go to Options ==> FM and increase the size of the NAME field.

Sorry gents. I wasn't even aware of that parameter. Looking back at a (very) old SPFLite version it looks like it just had DATETIME,SIZELONG in the fields by default.
Expanding the length in Options displays the full name. Looks like that's a new feature I've missed being added, but having never even realised that option existed (and it previously it always displayed the full name by default), upgrading set the length to 40. Anyway, non-issue.
Robert: The full name was displayed where it would fit into the 40 bytes (which was inferred above, but re-reading it wasn't terribly obvious from what I posted).
Thanks
