Hello, I created a portable version of SPFLite2 on a flash drive following the directions in the Help guide. In the case of the portable version the path to the .CFG file is D:\Portable SPFLite2\Config\ I started SPFLite2 and entered OPT to display the options screen. SPFLite indicated it was my 1st time executing and displayed a screen in which I was to select the action of the <ENTER> key. BTW: At this time it knew where the .CFG file is.
I clicked option 'B' i.e., Enter key is enter key and CTRL+ Enter is Newline. After making the selection SPFLite2 displays a popup showing SPFLite Welcome and further states to "Please be patient. This will take a moment." It also of course displayed the SPFLite Global Options screen. I gave the popup 5 minutes to complete...the popup seeming never completed i.e., the popup screen never disappeared. I noticed in the SPFLite Global Options screen that the SPFLite.cfg file still pointed to my desktop location. I changed it to point to the Portable path and clicked done. A new popup appeared stating that Data Storage folders were missing which is true but they are contained beneath /Config on the portable drive but it still thought it was on the desktop version. I think it is wrapped around the axle. I ended up canceling it... SPFLite2 executes but obviously none of the customizations e.g., schemes, hilites, keyboard were retained.
Can you assist? Thank you. Regards, Randall Princeton

Hi Randall,
OK, obviously the portability option hasn't been used much lately. Turns out it's been mucked up by 'feature creep' and a lack of testing the portability stuff on my part. My apologies.
Actually, I was about to package up a new release today anyway, so I've corrected what's needed to make it work again and included it in the release.
So if you can check the website later today, and pick up the new release, it should work a lot better. All you should need to do (after the install) is re-copy the Program Files (x86).SPFLite folder over to the \SPFLite folder on the thumb drive (replacing duplicate files).

Hello George, I uncovered another issue after creating a portable version of SPFLite2. It appears that SPFLite2 does not know where the macros are (With the portable version they are under \Config\Macros). I assigned a "Do" macro to a key. Pressed the key and an error is returned stating "Error loading xxx.DO". This occurs regardless of macro name or key assigned. Any ideas? Thank you. Regards, Randall Princeton

Randall: Odd. Works here. Check your configuration. Start SPFLite from the USB drive and then goto Options => Config and at the bottom it shows where the MACROS folder should be. Is that where you copied the folder(s) from the normal install location? If not, move them there. e.g. Config will probably show:: F:\SPFLite2\CONFIG\ And the CONFIG folder should look like: If still a no-go, get back to me. George
