SPFLite version 23041 and later.
George,
This is a "heads-up" rather than a code bug.
Today SPFLite startup was refused by the Firewall in Norton Security. Reason given is: " SPFLite2 Editor does not have a valid digital signature" whilst trying outbound access to 74.208.236.39:80, www.spflite.com. Reproducible via OPTIONS - GENERAL - <Check Now>
I note the error only occurs if internet traffic goes via the VPN (NORDVpn) and does NOT occur when VPN is off.
I also note that a subsequent attempt to start SPFlite is successful.
This suggests that the periodic check for a new version is possibly not sensitive to a failure to connect.
In this case, does it wait for the next interval or does it check again on the next day?

Stefan: If it fails, the last check date is not updated, so it should just try again.
I use NordVPN as well, it messes up a fair number of web sites, including FreeForums. FreeForums continually blocks the NordVPN servers from access, and I have to switch servers till I find one they haven't blocked yet.
Some of the interference is only partial and hard to figure. E.g. I can access Walmart.COM (the US site) - no problem. When I access Walmart.CA (the Cdn site) it sort of works. I can search for products, but they all show 'Not Available' where the price would be. I have to suspend NordVPN and refresh the screen to get the price.
The tale that VPNs are transparent is just that, a tale.
George
