George, isn't the standard for commands like this to simply "report" the status of the setting, with ON/OFF required to change it? Or, is it NOW that omitting ON/OFF is supposed to "toggle" it?
(I don't think LOOPCHECK should be toggled, FYI.)
R
P.S. Regarding the Windows UI interactions, is there a Win "message" that reports returning to Windows? If so, you might be able to capture that to set the 'resume checking'.

Robert: I specifically didn't toggle this one.
No, there is no 'return to windows' message. Windows shoves messages onto your queue (at an unbelievable rate), you fetch one from the queue in your Callback routine, then see if it even interests you (ignore those you don't care about), and when you're done the Callback function just does a normal EXIT FUNCTION (possibly setting a RC to indicate OK or Failure)

Hello Jo, Regarding: "Randall, your description does not clearly describe what "modal window" pops up. Is that really the SPFLite-loop-protection-window? Or is it a Microsoft Windows Message stating "The application is not responding. ..." ? in this case, you may try to modify some windows timeout values (HungAppTimeout) in the registry or simply wait until the file is loaded."
It is indeed SPFLite's loop protection window that pops up. Regards, Randall
