Sometimes, it can be useful to actually see trailing spaces and line lengths in a file without changing any data.
I stumbled across this very simple command whilst playing with regular expressions.
FIND ALL R'.' <-- Thats a full stop/dot between the quotes.
To undo the effect, RESET FIND
Voila! as they say en France.

Hi Robert,
You make an excellent point and drew the right conclusion. I do have HILITE FIND ON. I forgot about that profile setting, (and P'=' for that matter. Got caried away playing with regEx).
Why do I care about line lengths? It's not really the numerical length, but the trailing blanks which aren't there in SPFLITE but were there in ISPF/PDF. Old habits and all that. I can get close to the old behaviour by using an appropriate MINLEN (usually 80 or 120 depending on filetype). But when the odd line exceeds the MINLEN, there's no trailing blank(s) and I end up scratching my head when a simple command doesn't do as I expected. As I say, old habits!
