Hello, No matter what I do in Options, I get the the message 'Minimum value for Data Shift is 1' and have to cancel out of it. Can someone please tell me what I have done and how to correct it?

Issue a primary command of OPT GEN
You will see a box titled SPFLite Global Options (DEFAULT) with the "General" tab highlighted.
About half way down the screen, on the left side, see the option "Default # cols to use for data shifts (Min 1)" and the data entry box to its right. To the right of the box, you will see a note, "(Append 'P' to use Profile XTAB)"
This box is where the "minimum of 1" value is supposed to go. I suspect that somehow this box has gotten cleared. Try using a value of 1 and then click on the Done button.
That should fix it.

Thank you so much. I felt like I was lost at sea without a paddle.

What was in that box before you entered a "1" into it?
If it was blank, that is odd. This should normally be filled in with a default value (like 1) during installation time. For it to be blank or if it had something invalid suggests either a problem with the installation process, or somehow your system configuration data got corrupted. For either of these to happen is quite weird and unusual.

Thanks Robert. I'll have to admit I had no recollection of the 'P' option for the value, had to read the Help file.

Wish I knew what was in that box before. Hope the user comes back and tells us.
I run with this box set to 4P and it works really well.
I am guessing you forgot about it because I am probably the only one that uses it that way. Sigh.
===> Since this issue was reported by a new user, I am wondering if there is something about a new-user-install process that is creating a bad/missing field here, which is something that established users (like you) wouldn't normally see.
