This idea stems from a recent post from Mueh where he can't easily type / for the "forward" line command modifier. George, some time back you added . to mean / and .. to mean \ but I am wondering if it's possible to use a , comma to mean \ also. If the line command name were wide (like, a macro) then .. might not fit.
I am not sure if using , comma would work in terms of parsing the line command field, but AFAIK comma isn't used for anything there.
I double checked the German keyboard, and they don't even seem to HAVE a \ key, even on the fancy T2 keyboard version with all of its many dead keys. Nope, mistake - they DO have \ but it's in different positions depending on what keyboard model you have.
P.S. I found the . and .. Help info was a little hard to find. I am wondering if there is some way to spruce up the HnD so this shows up a little better.

Robert: Yes, I can add , to be the same as .. or \ if that helps.
Yes the help is hidden, I haven't found it yet, its not in the working"FM Line command" section. Where did you see it?
George
P.S. Found it. Updated it a bit, and added it as well to the "Working with" section.

George: Just got a note from Mueh, the . and .. only work in Edit, not in FM. Didn't know that one. My mistake. I thought the logic for / and \ was the same; my bad.
Evidently Mueh and Stefan have German keyboards. The / and \ keys are in different positions, depending on which keyboard model you have. They are not all the same; some require shift and some don't.
Mueh: I believe you could cut and past the / and \ and assign key mappings for them. I would put \ on Ctrl comma and / on Control period. That should be relatively easy to type.
The backslash \ would be be mapped as [\] and / as [/] in KEYMAP. I just tried it and it works fine.

Hmmm, thought I'd posted something, but don't see it.
The . , and .. alternates will now work in both Edit and FM line commands.
George.
