There's a wee flaw in the AUTO colorisation logic.
*** LOW Priority ***
When scanning the data line, the 'check-for-quoted-strings' code is ALWAYS 'active', even when the related .AUTO file does NOT include a 'QUOTED' specification.
The effect is that any quotation marks will interfere with colorisation of the line.
In particular, a lone quotation mark in a data line will prevent all subsequent colorisation processing on that line because the code is looking for matching quote to end the literal string.
I think that when the .AUTO file does NOT include a "QUOTED" entry, all/any quotation marks in the data line should be treated as a normal character.
