I only tested this on my "sacrificial" W7 notebook, but the File Manager Guard function is broken or the functionality has been removed. I didn't notice anything about this being removed in the release notes.
I use the Guard function extensively to "remember" files on my 2 Raspberry Pi computers, My Synology NAS, and removable SATA HDDs to remember them when they are not mounted/powered-up so I don't have to type the entire Path.
Maybe I haven't read enough of the new documentation to see if there is another way to accomplish this, but for now this is a show-stopper for my upgrading my main XP system to V8.

Hi Carl,
Guard has indeed 'gone away'. The added support for multiple directory folders in a filelist, each with it's own selection mask, has altered the whole way the filelist actions are performed.
To get what you got with Guarded entries:
Add selection lines to the Filelist as follows:
C:\RaspberrPi\Files\,specificfilename1.txt C:\RaspberrPi\Files\,specificfilename2.txt C:\RaspberrPi\Files\,specificfilename3.txt C:\NAS\Files\,anotherfilename1.txt C:\NAS\Files\,anotherfilename2.txt
Make sure the 1st entry field ends with a \ to indicate a folder search.
e.g. each line requests a list of the relevant folder, and then has a mask for a specific file (it could also be a generic mask if that would work.)
SPFLite will not remove such items from the Filelist any longer just because the file is no longer present (effectively what GUARD used to do)
I think once you grasp this, you'll find the new FileList support is a lot more flexible. Well, that's our hope.

Thanks for the reply George.
I guess I panicked when I tried the old Guard function and got an error then hastily created this post. After reading the updated FILELIST documentation I now understand the improvements. As you suggested, V8 has a much better method for dealing with this.
