Robert: Yep, Broke. Finally tracked it down. In debugging, you can't place a Watch on an Object.Property value (since it's not a true variable) so when you want to watch it you have to insert a line saying Tempvar = Object.Property and watch the Tempvar.
In the routine, after debugging was done, I left in one of these temp assignments, and unfortunately I had just used one of the local variables. And it wasn't really a true TEMP one, so I was clobbering a value used later on in the routine.

When you pointed out it not working, I had to refresh my brains as to what it was supposed to be doing, because frankly I don't think I'd ever used it. Basically, I'm still 'stuck' doing things with all the old original ISPF tools. You know, the toolmaker who doesn't even use the tools he's made.
But yeah, it's kinda impressive to watch it work. And you're right, I've never seen it anywhere else.

Yeah, even with our new enhanced searching, we don't really have all the flexibility to add keywords like that. And that's ignoring the effort it would take to do so. I'll add conformant, case etc. to the master KW list, which should get them included.

It's at times like this I find the PDF help file really handy.
Open it up press CTRL+F and type conformant in the search box. Booom!

Normal CHM help also does this in the Search box in the left hand column. 'conformant' brought up 4 topics.

I have tried many times to find a way to programatically invoke Help with an initial search request but have never found a method. The HTMLHELP API provides for Topic ID, Topic Names etc. but not an initial Search.
Keeping the Help Search in mind is a good idea, it's amazingly fast.
