I no longer have access to real ISPF, but I recall being able to issue "X ALL" and immediately start to type a FIND command. That was because (as I remember) the ""X ALL" command resulted in the cursor remaining on the command line. In SPFLite it goes to the first (only) excluded line. From there typing just moves the cursor along that line which is useless.

Robert: Rick:
Sorry, not touching this with a 10 foot pole. It has more implications than you can imagine.
And what's wrong with
X ALL "ABC";FIND "DEF"

Robert: I fully understand, but this is a hairy area. If you remember we did a lot of stuff to track cursor positioning when it was within an excluded area, including status line updating. There are 'shadow' csr locations being managed and this stuff is now so old I'd need job retraining to even approach it.
And my mental agility ain't so good anymore. Well, neither is my physical, I fell badly in a parking lot before Xmas and I'm still nowhere back to normal. The scrapes and bruising are mostly gone, but I damaged the rotator cuff in my left shoulder, so lots of physio to go through to get it back.
Sometimes life sucks big time.
