Robert: Hmm, yes something odd. Sometimes repeatable, sometimes not. I haven't spotted a pattern yet? Have you?

Robert: I've spotted a error in not resetting the saved selection values. Not sure it's involved but ...
BTW is this 'feature' even worth keeping? I doubt it was ever used much, if at all, and I bet even you will have to read the help a bit to remember what it's about.

Robert: No, not simple cut/copy/paste stuff, of course not. Find "Single character text selection operands"

Robert:
OK, I run in Insert mode normally, and use a | insert cursor, so I tried the old cursor style and yes with the Blob insert cursor a single char selection is not the best. But it sure doesn't take the elaborate a/b/c/d/ steps you outline.
Anyway, regardless of that problem, you've not understood my original question about the "Single character text selection operands" topic I asked about removing? Did you refresh your memory as to what I'm talking about?
I'm sure it will take you quite a while to figure out what it is and find it in the Help file. Proving how obscure and unused it is - thus worthy of removal.

Robert: This is the @ and # support. Which will remain now.
Still, finding it in HELP is extremely difficult.

Robert: All correct, and I haven't been able to find anything on the intermittent Pen stuff, so that's still outstanding.
