I issued the command "F X'01DAFA684810CDA793' ALL" and got the result "CHARS X'01B9B3C7E710F2786C' found 2 times".
I've attached a screenshot of this - I don't seem to be able to paste images into this message.
It's not a big deal - more of a curiosity really.
Cheers, Dave

Dave: Is it the CHARS you think is incorrect? It's not, it doesn't describe the type of string beng searched for, but he type of qualifier - CHARS, WORD, PREFIX, SUFFIX etc.

Dave: Robert: I missed the EBCDIC condition. I've corrected the FIND message to properly display the EBCDIC HEX rather than the ANSI HEX.

Hi George, Robert. I’m sorry I didn’t mention the EBCDIC factor, but I naively thought that hex data was hex data! I had thought that this would just impact the display of the characters, not the hex values. However I’m having all sorts of games trying to work with mainframe datasets which have been downloaded as binary blobs. I should (will) search the forums for tips on this.
Thanks as always for your amazing responses.
Regards, Dave
PS Is there a way of getting notification when a reply to my query is posted? I feel churlish in not replying earlier.

And I just noticed the notifications tab and updated it to get an email on an update. Brilliant!
