R,
Quick questions first..
Why would we need a 'XXXX' operand?
Why can't PROFILE NEW <whatever> not just jump directly to the editor after creating the profile entry in config? I've never used this approach because I cannot see the settings with which the new profile has been created.
So I figure, most people who use PROFILE NEW <name> would immediately switch into EDIT anyway.
Maybe PROFILE NEW should just create the profile and then go to edit. Or maybe PROFILE NEW is actually redundant and PROFILE EDIT could provide both functions, EDIT if the profile exists and CREATE+EDIT if it doesn't.
I don't think the ';' issue relates to the PROFILE command specifically. I think the ';' when entered via a SET statement is not resolved by SPFLite.
I tried (unsucessfully) this SET command in an attempt to get RFIND to work with the NX command argument
SET ALIAS NXA=X ALL ; F ALL
NXA <whatever> results in the correct commands on the command line accompanied by a similimar 'operand' errror you observed, even though if you enter the two commands by hand they work perfectly.
