George,
Further to my discussion with Robert in "Suggestions - Do files need finer setting control than the PROFILE level?"...
(1) Take a file, preferably using a new-to-SPFLite file type.
(2) Enter a data line, e.g. The Quick Brown Fox Jumped Over the Lazy Dog (3) SAVE the file (4) RELOAD the file Note that everything is as it was before.
(5) Place a '\' (backslash) character after the word "Jumped" (6) Issue command PRESERVE C (7) SAVE the file again (8) Reload the file
Nothing after the \ character will have been saved.
