The behaviour when issuing a CUT command seems to have changed (I'm running Version 2.6.22194). What used to happen (if you wanted to copy the contents of a whole file for example), was that you could enter C9999 on line one and it copied the whole file to the clipboard.
What now happens is that a message "Repeat value extends past the last line - line 000001" is issued. Seemingly the only way round this is to do a CC block on first and last lines before issuing the CUT.
Can the previous behaviour be reinstated? I noticed a comment in another thread about how all this area has been rewritten a few times. Maybe it's an unintentional consequence.

Clive: Because of other problems, the old 999999 kludge to select all following lines was removed in the May 2022
Try out the Fwd/Bkwd modifiers, they've been around for years.
C/ select all lines from here to the end. C\ select all lines from here to the top. Or just say CUT ALL
