George,
Sorry to bring you yet aother weird one (but you must be used to that from me by now)
The basic scenario...
(1) Start an MEDIT session - say with 3 smallish files. (2) Issue HEX command Game over.
Module Back Trace: 02 DOSTATUSBAR 01 DOCURSOR 00 REALPBMAIN
For bonus points ( ), here's a question...
In my case, the MEDIT session consisted of 24 files, totalling just over 31400 lines. I had excluded lines in the files, an HIDE ON as well.
When I entered the HEX ON comamnd, two crash panels appeared, the usual one and another reporting that a second error had ocurred.
On restarting I noticed that SPFLite had create a CrashSave file for each file in the MEDIT session. But they all contain the full 31400-odd lines of the total MEDIT session. So technically, no unsaved edit data was actually lost, but recovery isn't easy as it is just one long file now.
Question: Is that what you would expect from a crash when MEDIT is involved?

Well, the crash routine I'm pretty sure just does a simple SAVE type write of each open tab, so there would be no special MEdit handling. After all. the program has crashed, it's supposed to bail out somewhat gracefully, and quickly. Not continue using every available routine just as if nothing had happened.
Regardless, I have managed to track it down and correct it.
I don't know if you've even spotted this, because I've even forgotten that we do it. But as you scroll down through a MEdit session, SPFLite places the Filename containing the lines currently displayed in the title bar. The routine that does this was the culprit. It was not handling the dash line between Hex line displays properly.
Now, please go off to your local and stop finding these weird and wonderful bugs.

Nope I had never spotted this. I wish going to my local were an option, but alas, after avoiding it since January 2020, my wife and I both tested positive for Covid on Sunday, so no pub for me The bad news - I've another hiccup for you - this time in DIFF processing. See Problem / Bugs.

Yeah, lots of little goodies in SPFLite coming back to haunt us.
Covid - Ouch! It seems avoiding Covid is a near impossibility. We came back from a cruise in May. Last day or so we weren't 100%, so when we got home did a Rapid test - yep! Covid. It was hardly noticeable, a sniffle and minor cough.
But after 5 months, we still both have a low grade persistent cough. So we keep up with the shots, we've had 5 Covid shots/boosters, plus the annual normal Flu shot, so - fingers crossed. I think Covid is going to become something we all just have to manage to live with. That's why I don't understand all these anti-vaccer types. You gotta be brain-dead to not get every shot and take every reasonable precaution. Sheesh! It's your lives you're playing with!
