Help file version SPFLite V2.7.23056 2023-02-25, i.e. the one shipped with the most recent official release.
Looks like there's a missing/bad index for the SHOW primary command.
HELP SHOW entered via beta version 2.7.23061, returns message "Topic search failed, providing default help data"

Stefan: More extensive. HelpNDoc is used to create the Help files. When the extended Help was put in we modified the usage of what HnD calls the Topic ID to store Kwds. But it seems HnD has a bad habit of 'somewhere', under 'some' combination of edit, of resetting the Topic ID back to the Topic Title. It did this here for about a dozen or so entries.
I'm going to post a replacement HnDIndex.txt file in the Beta forum. Just copy it over the one in the install folder.
I'm going to open a ticket with HnD, it shouldn't be changing this field by itself.

Hey George, if it just affects the beta version(s) but the 'official releases' are fine, there's no problem.
As a beta-user I'll happily accept a few "quirks". (Especially as I didn't switch to the official version and try it there. I overlayed it with the beta code and didn't want to re-install.)

Stefan: No, it affected the last prod. release, that's why I posted the corrected index file.
Not really a big problem, you just lose the quick access that HELP xxxx provides, and only for about a dozen commands.

HnD got back to me. There's a setting buried in the Advanced section to turn off the automatic resetting of the TopicID.
Who knew?

IMHO, even more surprising that there is a setting to prevent automatic changes to the Topic ID, is the surprising fact that they would choose the 'reset' option as the default. Why would any software intentionally choose deletion of user data as a default - and not even mention this in 'big letters'?
Hmm ...

Robert: They also support adding your own custom Topic properties, but to do so would mean re-entering all 400-500 IDs. And then I think you have to create a custom script or something to extract them.
Nah! Easier to just turn off auto-sync and stay with what we have.
They did have other reasons for doing the sync, some of which had to do only with certain types of output. e.g HTML vs CHM vs Doc etc. No need to understand any of that.
