One of my filelists has a mixture of single path (ending in \) and extended path entries (ending in \\). When I try to sort the files by name, then I find two blocks: first all names from extended path entries sorted by name, followed by all other files sorted by name. My .FLIST: C:\Users\Jo\Documents\SPFLite\Config\MACROS\|*.macro C:\Users\Jo\Documents\SPFLite\MACROS\|*.macro C:\Users\Jo\Documents\SPFLite\Diverses\\|*.macro C:\Users\Jo\Documents\SPFLite\SampleMacros\\|*.macro D:\Daten\SPFLite\MACROS\|*.macro

Jo, the question here is, what order DID you want the files in? Just by name alone?
Look at your file list headings. See where it says Dir- Name+ ? Since it's set this way, the highest-level sort order is descending by path name first, then by name ascending.
I think there is actually nothing wrong with SPFLite or with the order.
If you want things by name alone, I'd try this:
Dir* Name+
Click on the "Dir" part of the heading until it shows Dir*
Try that and see what you get.

Yes, I want to sort by name only.

Robert: The Dir heading simply controls 'where' folders appear in the list.
+ = first - = Last * = In Alpha seq.
otherwise it does not affect the Name? sort choice.
Jo: I'll have a look, it doesn't seem right to me either.
[UPDATE] I can duplicate it, that's a good start. [/UPDATE]
[UPDATE2] OK, corrected, I'll post a new beta (23305) [/UPDATE2]

I feel like I need to make an apology here. Lately, it seems like my "insights" into SPFLite haven't been all that insightful. Maybe it's time I stop.

Robert: Don't sweat it. I find I constantly have to reference the Help file while debugging something to refresh my mind on just what it's supposed to do. We're both losing it somewhat. Old age sucks!

Well, it's at least a little encouraging that all those words in the Help are good for something. That took one hell of a lot of typing to get it published.
