Hi,
I have a problem, I'm editing a number of files in parallel doing quite a lot of changes in each of them. After a while the keyboard is locked and does not respond. Same for every key I have tried except for alt+f4. This terminates the spfLite session and all the updates after the last SAVE are lost. I have the feeling this is dependant of the number of actions or updates done, any log buffer overflow or similar? Frequent use of the SAVE command helps but sooner or later this hangup comes,

Hi,
Currently I'm running 8.2.5103 but thr problem was there also in previous versions (but I never reoorted that). I hsvs hsd opened some four to eight tabs in a single session and been doing a lot of move and copy after/brfore/here, some find all, some change all and of course some normal "normal" editing but I cannot guive any numbrt of actions. It's not a problem with any specific commad, as I see, it can happen at any time, but it's always "after a while" - never in the beginning of an spfLite session..

As I mentioned in the other thread, my system is 'porked' and I fear I am quite literally going to have to rebuild it. I've just wasted far too many days fighting this ad virus that I picked up, mainly because it only affected Chrome on my system; and I was sure SOME AV program or anti-malware would know how to remove it -- bad call. And since I was only keeping daily system backups 7 days, I no longer have an un-infected restore point. (THAT policy will alter!!!)
So I will be mostly 'down' for a few days as I try and re-build this. So further debugging here will just have to wait. Sorry, but I can't keep going with this thing driving me nuts. Even getting through the forums to post this has taken about 4 attempts.

Update: Progress - sort of - but very slow. Since my system was an 8.1 update from an 8.0 level which was an update from a Win7 level which started out as XP, I don't exactly have a nice simple 8.1 install disk. Best I could manage was stuffing 8.0 on it. But to get to 8.1 from the windows store, 8.0 has to be fully updated by Windows Update to current status. This has been an unbelievable nightmare. Twice now I have left it running to download and install about 140 updates, to find it has been basically sitting there doing nothing; I've no idea why.
So I started over, just selected 2 updates from the list, and they went on nice and quick. And of course wanted to reboot. So I let it, and during the reboot Windows update pops in and says to stand by while 86 updates are installed. Where`d they come fromÉ Anyway, that has now been running for almost 3 hours and is only at 68 of 86. This is painful. MS should be thoroughly ashamed of this process.
I guess I`ll get there -- eventually!
BTW posting this from my wife`s laptop.
