I hope you guys know that if SPFLite were not already so exceptionally good, the likes of me wouldn't be nit-picking, right?
I use HEX a lot so I have an ideas for edit primary commands like AUTOBKUP, AUTOCAPS, COLS, FOLD, HEX, HIDE, MARK and TAB, which only have two parameters - ON and OFF. At present, 'ON' is assumed if neither is specified. So simply entering the command by itself (e.g. 'HEX') may as well just toggle between the ON and OFF states.
And while we're talking about HEX command in particular,...
I wonder if legibility could be improved when HEX mode is ON, by changing the hex lines to a different colour to the text lines. This could be autoselected depending on current foreground text colour, share an existing colour (e.g. column marker line), or via its own setting in the Global Options, Screen tab dialog.
What say you? Any chance? Please.

Stef: Robert and I a long time ago had this discussion about how the ON/OFF operands should be handled, and frankly we will not re-visit this discussion. Everyone has their own idea (Robert and I did NOT agree, we compromised) so whatever we did to change this would tick somebody off. Lets just leave it as is. Besides, as Robert mentioned in another thread, it means revising all the Doc. and NOBODY likes working on Doc.
As to the color suggestion, I'll have a look. I would not be adding a new color to the Options tab, we have mode than enough right now, I'll try to use one of the current Hi/Lo values for text probably.

Stef: OK, I altered the display of HEX lines so the lower Hex lines are now a different color from the top character mode line.
