Hi,
I've just released Version 10 on the SPFLite Website.
Yes, it's a jump from Version 8. Version 9 was an experimental one I worked on, but it just didn't want to cooperate and work properly, so I put it out of it's misery.
Version 10 contains, along with a few enhancements and bug fixes, a major re-write of all the color text support. Previous versions made it difficult to specify source colorization values. Some colors were specified in Options => Screen, and others were specified within the .AUTO colorization files. At best it was awkward and confusing.
The new support consolidates all color specification within the Options dialog, and provides immediate visual feedback as to what your choices 'look like'. In addition, screen painting of colorized text should be 25-35% faster.
One thing we have striven for over the years was to make upgrading to new releases as transparent as possible. In nearly all cases all you needed to do was run the installer for the new release.
If you do NOT use source colorization, then V10 will also be 100% transparent.
If you DO use source colorization, we've done everything possible to make this as simple as possible.
For ALL OF YOU - the first execution of Version 10 will do the following:
As always, comments, suggestions (and bug reports) are welcome.

For ALL OF YOU - the first execution of Version 10 will do the following:
- Copy your existing \Documents\SPFLite folder to a backup "just in case".
- Display (just once) a short document describing the changes which you really should read.
- Display an options dialog. Those not using colorization can click on Cancel and are done.
- Those using colorization, and who have read the short document for assistance, will need to make a small choice.
- SPFLite will continue normal initialization and you will not be interrupted again.
