Maybe spflite.exe can determine itself, if it runs under Windows or under Wine.
So I do not need to call: spflite -wine.

heiner55: There's almost no difference whether you use -WINE or not. It was to do with handling of dialog tooltips which did not work correctly in early WINE releases. I would guess the latest WINE releases handle that better. Just try without -WINE, my guess is it will work fine. Anyway, I don't have a Linux system, maybe you can test this code for me. Run the attached inside and outside WINE and let me know if it detects it properly. George TestWine.EXE (7.5 KB)

Hi,
With Debian 11 and Wine 4.0: Your test program shows the dialog: It appears we are under wine.
WIndows: I do not have a Windows System.
Maybe you could add something to the title bar: SpfLite(v11.0.19196wine) ...

I need the option -wine.
Without the -wine option, the keymap dialog does not work right. I can not fill anything into the input fields.

Heiner: The program was only a test to see if the code works, I'll add it now to SPFLite to do automatically and just remove the -WINE option.
Interesting that WINE still can't handle the tool-tips properly. I wonder if the WINE team is aware of this as in looking at how to test for Wine, their feeling was that you shouldn't have to, if Wine doesn't work, report the problem so they can fix it.

Thanks a lot. You are right, Wine has still some problems.

It looks like the new version 11.0.19227 is without automatic "-wine" detection.

The problem was that the automatic WINE detection didn't make it into the V11 code branch. I've had a bug report that one of my fixes wasn't too well done, and I've had to go re-work it.
So I think, sigh, that another release is coming out. I'll make sure the WINE code is included.
Grrr, there goes another few hours building a distribution.
