MY BAD!!!
'DELETE NOTE' does what I need. Bit odd that there it should feature there rather than under RESET which caters for all the other 'special' lines.
Anyway - the functionality is there - so forget the request below. I'd have deleted the post, but couldn't figure out how.
Hi Guys,
There doesn't appear to be a quick way to remove NOTE> lines from a file.
Hence I request a new operand for RESET to do this, ie. RESET NOTE, and inclusion of this new functionality in the scope for RESET ALL
Rationale: NOTE> lines can be quite handy, especially in macros, for example ... --- to display variables and trace info whilst debugging (SPF_DEBUG can display stuff but it's lost when it scrolls and can't easily be associated with specific data lines. A NOTE line can be right on the spot) --- to return more information to the user than can be accommodated in the SET_MSG response. Usually at the top of the current screen, rather like the PROFILE command does. --- I think it's an oversight that it isn't there already, given existing RESET scope.
Please.

Stefan: Robert is correct, RESET fiddles with attributes and flags, removing NOTE lines actually has to do line deletions, thus it went to DELETE. Purely arbitrary decision, it could have been done in RESET, but when you get into doing RESET with several 'type' operands, yanking some lines out in the middle is just a complication we can well do without.
